Climate Requirements

• Temperature: Optimal range is 24°C to 32°C (75°F to 90°F).

• Rainfall: Requires 1500–3000 mm/year. Evenly distributed rainfall is ideal.

• Humidity: High humidity (75–90%) is necessary.

• Altitude: Grows well up to 800 m above sea level.

• Sunlight: Full sun is required; shade during early growth is optional but not essential.

Soil Requirements

• Type: Deep, well-drained sandy loam or clay loam with organic matter.

• pH: Slightly acidic to neutral (5.0 to 6.5).

• Drainage: Good drainage is critical. Durian roots are sensitive to waterlogging.

• Depth: Minimum of 1.5 meters to support the deep root system.
